Jennifer Ann Vales

Jennifer Ann Vales, age 56, of Portland, Oregon passed, surrounded by family, on February 14th, 2019 at Adventist Medical Center. Born June 1, 1962 in Seattle, WA. to Barbara Ann Sweeny and Richard Schneider. She lived with her wife, Mariruth Orr (a.k.a. Stormy Styles). A woman of great humor, Jennifer was always ready with a comeback for any occasion. When they were getting ready for bed every evening, Jennifer would tell Stormy a story based on a random topic. Almost without fail, she would give Stormy a good laugh before sleep. Her ability to dominate in games was unmatched. She could whip you at anything from Scrabble to Parcheesi. If you ever needed to phone a friend for a trivia answer, Jennifer was the one to call. Her greatest loves were her fur babies, Skittles and Peanut, and her wife, Stormy. Jennifer leaves us all with memories full of laughter and love. Safe travels to our friend, sister, and beloved wife. Jennifer was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Anne Sweeney and is survived by her wife Mariruth Orr, her father, Richard Schneider, her sister Loreen Peritz (Scott), her nieces Kellien and Eryn Peritz, her Aunt Judy Wrede and cousins Barbara Osborn and Christopher Wrede, and many chosen family that called her Mama. A Celebration of Life is being held on Saturday March 9, 2019 at the Q Center 115 N Mississippi Ave, Portland, OR 97217 from 5:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. Jennifer loved a good potluck. Smiles, laughter and our happiness were so important to her. Please join us by bringing a dish to share and your joy to share. Let us gather in celebration and remembrance of her love and quick wit, with her beloved wife Stormy Styles. The Q Center was an organization that Jennifer loved and supported.
